Zach Cregger’s ambitious follow-up to Barbarian strikes this exact chord. Layered in narrative and loaded in symbols, Weapons is an alluring watch from start to finish.Cregger’s now signature use of earthy, say what people would actually say in a given scenario dialogue aides it often, threading in a comical edge that complements and contrasts the horror without overexerting itself. Also big kudos to he and editor Joe Murphy’s knack for jump cut transitions and moving us between different scenes with clever ties in language.
