Before Sunrise
1995movie

Before Sunrise is like a déjà-vu, but not in the usual sense of having lived that scene before. It is a feeling of simultaneity, as if we are experiencing it in real time, so intensely that we completely immerse ourselves in the characters’ skin. Feeling the butterflies in the stomach, the sparkle in the protagonist’s eyes, is like a direct and immediate experience. This film evoked in me a profound and overwhelming emotion. I won’t try to define this feeling, as it may be more revealing to explore its infinite complexity than to limit it to a fixed concept.
Before Sunrise is drenched in the enchanting, slightly unreal atmosphere of a European city explored after dark. There’s a palpable sense of discovery, intimacy, and wistful transience, all bathed in the warm glow of streetlights and the dawning realization that this magical interlude is finite.
