More essential to the film’s tone is a truly bonkers score by Jonny Greenwood, one that almost constructs themes for sections around sparsely played individual instruments.

One Battle After Another’s action scenes are well structured and there’s a fantastic car chase in the desert, but there’s a point where I was looking at my watch because it seemed a little long. It made me mad because I wanted more character development for the Black female characters but never got it.And that is a film that is important right now. As Lockjaw Sean Penn committed to this role big time. His physicality, expression tone was perfect for this character.
