His quiet style lets his actresses depict their repressed feelings as well as eventually express themselves openly in a near play style. We get the awkward quiet moments to explosive arguments and eventual mutual understanding. I adored Jacobs’ previous film French Exit. His Three Daughters is as interesting and unique.
