Eternal FamilyThe young athletes of Falcon Academy are training hard to earn their place in the nationals. But when these burgeoning sports stars start disappearing one after the other, Dr. Jordine and his team - who’ve started plying their athletes with new and untested performance-enhancing drugs - are baffled.
"Fatal Games" (1984) is one of the many slashers that came out in the wake of the success of "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th." The formula and tropes are simply transferred to a different milieu; in this case, an athletics school.This was the only directorial feature for co-writer/director Michael Elliot and you can see why given how bland everything is.
FATAL GAMES (1984). The students at the Academy are being prepped for the Nationals ahead of qualifying for the Olympics. Annie (Lynn Banashek) has trouble persuading her father that she should remain in college.Clearly hedging his bets, Elliot front-loads the film with some ANIMAL HOUSE-style hijinks as the students prank each other or break into impromptu food fights or tug-of-war. Too much time is spent on character-building for a cast with little distinctive character.
