It is part of the Star Wars franchise, taking place after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and follows former Sith lord Maul during the reign of the Galactic Empire.The series is produced by Lucasfilm Animation, with Matt Michnovetz as head writer and Brad Rau as supervising director; Filoni, Michnovetz, and Rau serve as executive producers with Athena Yvette Portillo, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes. The series is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on April 6, 2026, with two episodes releasing each week until May 4. It will consist of 10 episodes.
