I was first introduced to Utopia on a visit home to the UK in 2013. Not to be confused with Working Dog’s well-loved, deadpan infrastructure sitcom, this Utopia is Dennis Kelly’s weird, dark and idiosyncratic conspiracy thriller. I was hooked from the opening sequence.This ever-present gallows humour lightens Utopia’s emotional load.
In my house Utopia (Channel 4) lost one viewer shortly before the end of this first episode.You'll know which scene we'd got to, of course. That scene, in Wilson Wilson's bunker.
