TV shows about young people in crappy apartments falling in and out of each other’s beds aren’t new, and I’m admittedly a sucker for stories about friends who suddenly realise they’re in love (I think in psychology they call it “ the Pacey Witter Syndrome ”). Before watching Lovesick last year, I don’t think I realised how much I liked seeing romantic comedies on TV. I’m making Lovesick sound wussy, but it’s not. Creator Tom Edge infuses the show with enough humour and acute social observation that it cuts through the sweetness.
Lovesick (Netflix Series): It follows Dylan, who must contact all his former sexual partners after being diagnosed with chlamydia, exploring his past relationships and the complexities of love and friendship. Is “Lovesick” (the series) funny? Yes, “Lovesick” is known for its witty and intelligent humor.
