Grosse Pointe Blank gets it. My third time watching it and I love the whole thing more every time. It's kind of a preposterous premise, but the more far-fetched pieces elevate the emotional reality of Blank's return. Ultimately we have an impossible time collecting ourselves and communicating that collection to someone else. You see someone at 18 and you see someone at 28 and in the meantime you've had to grapple with adulthood.
